Video, Photo and Discussion Guidelines
The primary goal of this site is education. We realize there are many different vehicles for digital scrapbooking - i.e. different software products, websites, designers, computer platforms, etc.
Please keep your posts, videos, and discussions on topic. If you have general things to chat about, please post them in the General Chatter forum.
It is very important to the creator of this site that DS101 does not become a commercialized marketing machine where members feel they are bombarded with ads and offers.
We realize you all will want to talk about your favorite sites, designers and products and that is wonderful. We would hope that as you talk about your favorite products and designers that you also share something educational to help your fellow DS101 members - i.e. what you did with the product and why or a tip or technique.
Commercial fly-through posts (meaning that the only thing we hear from you on this site is linkage to a new product or site or commercial marketing offers) will be deleted.
Designers and business owners - please feel free to link to your sites and also offer freebies on your personal DS101 page and DS101 blog (also if you feed your blog into your page and offer freebies on your outside of the site blog your posts will come through to your personal page as well).
Please do not use the public areas of our site or your personal DS101 Blog that feeds into the main page as a place to post video ads, kit previews, or promotions. That said, we would LOVE to see your new things in our NEW In Stores Group you can find here.
The main guidelines to follow?
Tutorials Section - post videos that are strictly educational and on topic (videos can be on any software, with any product, profane and distasteful content will be deleted).
Gallery Section - Please post your layouts with credits and information so others may find the products in your layout. We would love to hear about your design process or any helpful techniques used in the layout but that is not mandatory...
Forum Section - keep posts on topic and general chatter where designated. Please do not be offended if we delete your off-topic items.
Your Page on DS101 - feel free to customize, feed in your outside blog using available applications, post kit previews, freebies, etc.
Your DS101 Blog - please do not post commercial posts - you are welcome to post freebies, general happenings, tutorials, and off topic items. Please remember that your personal blog feeds into the main page at DS101. Thanks!
Lastly, this may sound idealistic, but ask yourself what your motivations are for being in this community. If you want to make new friends, learn digital and contribute to helping others this is going to be a great place for you. If you are here only to attract new business there are more appropriate places to market to customers than this site.
