How many are using iPhoto and keywords? So many photos, so little time, how are you using iPhoto??? I am still learning but think it is a powerful tool - would love to hear what you all are doign with it!
here is one tutorial I did for fun on keywords (rough video but someone might find it helpful).
Ooooh, this is a timely topic for all of us, whether new to macs or not. I have a iphoto library for my photos and another one for my digistuff. Keeping them separate is best. I love iPhoto for my photos! Good organizer.
I am in the process of moving to Shoebox for my scrapbooking supplies (I think). I have also heard that just plain old using the finder/spotlight will accomplish the same thing.
Loved the video tutorial. I've often wonder what "smart anything" was....still not sure, but at least I saw how you use them.
As I said, I really like iPhoto for my pictures. I'm just not sure about using it for digi supplies, tho. I don't know that it's BAD, I don't know that it's GOOD....I'm riding the fence.
Personally I wouldn't use iPhoto for digital supplies. I think Shoebox does an amazing job for both photos and digital supplies - personally I will be using Aperture for my photos (it is part of my photo development workflow and the keywording will be done there but I can pull into iPhoto) and then I plan on using shoebox for my digital supplies...
thanks for your comments - the video was an experiment with Jing - it looks like I will have to pull it into the boot camp side with Camtasia and edit the size so it streams better....
i use iphoto for photos only. I do use keywords and I keep them simple so I don't have too many. I think once you have too many it's pointless. I also keep the web gallery jpg versions of my LOs in there and keyword them by CT.
I can look up a CT and see what I have done for that month, etc. Very handy way of organizing CT LOs.
Oooh, I like that idea of putting the jpg versions of layouts there! I hadn't EVEN thought of that. Currently mine are all in a folder in digiscrap folder but I think I like the idea of putting them in iphoto better.
