No, I'm not talking about the kind of texting your teen ager is into. I actually mean adding a little more interest to your text/journaling by playing around with the font size, leading, justification, and tracking.
Let me explain. The style of journaling on my layout above wou…

In honor of this fabulous hobby, make sure you take some time to create today!! To celebrate, I thought I'd share a layout and a little tip with you. To create the small scalloped circle accent on this page I covered a journaling brush with patterned paper using it as a clipping ma…

Have you given hybrid a try? I know most DS 101 users are hard-core digi scrappers, but there is something so fun about combining paper products with your computer skills. Here's a page I did recently. I printed out some of these adorable vintage journaling tags from Sande Krieger…

I have been really into creating hybrid pages lately. I enjoy the challenge of combining my digital skills with my traditional products. Last week I created this page about my 35th birthday.

I was inspired by a photo collage in an ad, so I decided to create a collage and part…

One of the exciting things we saw at CHA was the launch of some new digital scrapbooking software + content by Serif called
Digital Scrapbooking Artist. It is a wonderful program that is very user friendly--perfect for scrappers who feel intimidated by the learning curve of Photoshop or Elements. It also has some advanced options and features for the more advanced digi scrapper. It comes with one CD of content by Daisytrail and you can purchase 2 oth…

I had a fabulous time at CHA in Anaheim! I got to stay with my parents, hang out with some wonderful scappy friends, and see some awesome new products. Some exciting things are happening in digi-land:
Scrapblog has acquired some awesome paper-products-turned-digital like Cosmo Cricket, Anna Griffin, Crate Paper, Bam Pop, Pink Paislee, and Pebbles Inc. Not to mention some of my fav digi designers are there, too: Designer Digitals, Little Dreamer Designs, Peppermint Creative, and Rhonna Farrer.…

I was thrilled at the invitation to guest design for a wonderful challenge blog called
Color Combos Galore. Janet, the owner, picks a color combination and scrappers create a layout based on those colors and post it to the gallery. Here is the color combo she gave me to work with.

People...I actually scrapped. It's been like 2 weeks and
dang it felt good. I love to participate in challenges because I find it's a great spring board for creativity and stretches my skills. I made this layout for 2 challenges you can find over at
2 peas. I used some Basic Grey Granola papers and AC thickers I got from a RAK on the
Simple blog. Did I tell you how much I heart…

So, if you're a die-hard digital scrapper who's never gotten your hands or your scrap desk all messy, here's an idea for you to try something new: go HYBRID!! Give it a try (if you haven't) and you'll find it opens up a load of new creative possibilities. I'll show you a few hybrid projects I did recently. The first one is a baby shower banner.

With the busy holiday season on our heels I thought I'd share another time-saving idea with you. If you have multiple photos that need to be scrapped, try using a cluster of stacked frames
like these by

We had so many generous designers/businesses donate wonderful prizes for DSD that our cup was overflowing, and we are very grateful!
Angel Hartline donated 3 coupons for $5 each to

I've been going through some older pre-digital photos, scanning them, and then digital scrapping them. It's been fun to walk down memory lane, but I've had to brush off my photo editing skills as some of these photos aren't the best. Here are a couple tips for making the best of not-so-great scans of older photos.
