Digital Scrapbooking 101

About now we all should be thinking about Christmas Cards. This year my Christmas card mailing tradition is ripe for change. With the ever-growing presence of creative technology, I thought it might be fun and cost effective to look at doing something different.

Looking over my Christmas card mailing list I have email addresses for about 95% of the people on our list - the percentage goes up every year. This year I would feel pretty safe sending out an email Christmas Greeting or blog greeting - it is cost effective and in my opinion much more engaging than a printed card...

A friend introduced me to Smilebox. I downloaded the software and started imagining the possibilities of what one could do. This is what I came up with -

Click to play Raising Boys for Blog
Create your own slideshow - Powered by Smilebox
Make a Smilebox slideshow

For the "how-to" behind it - watch this video...

As you can see, Smilebox is an easy and creative way to share your photos, videos and music. You can add them into over 700 animated scrapbooks, slideshows and greetings then email them to friends, post them to your blog or social network, or print them.

Smilebox is free to use, but you can do lots more with the premium version. Smilebox is giving away to one of our lucky members one free year of their premium Club Smilebox service, which lets you print any design, choose from over 2,000 songs or add your own music, and play your Smilebox creations without ads and full screen. That’s a $40 value!

So throw your name into the ring by leaving a comment. And for EVERYONE we are sharing this fun freebie! Enjoy!!

My daughter introduced me to Smilebox about 7-8 months ago - wow, it was my first intro to digital type scrapbooking! I just used the freebies, but played with the musical slideshow on the layout that I did. It was fantastic! Smilebox had just the right music for what I wanted too! The problem I had was that I was going to spend just a few minutes to see what it was all about and I spent all day playing! But what a play day it was!!!! =)

I use Smilebox all the time to send my husband little greetings during the work week, I just snap a few pictures of what we are doing that day, up load them and send it off! It takes ten minutes or so and it brightens his day!
